Sign up on MGW.org/textme/rescue to receive mobile notifications on fundraising efforts and events from Minnesota Good Works through your mobile device – up to four text messages per month.  Message and data rates may apply.

By opting into Minnesota Good Works’s (“MGW”) text messaging service (“Service”), you hereby agree to the text messaging Terms of Use. Please read through the Terms of Use before providing us with your mobile phone number. By signing up, you are confirming you are 18 years of age or older.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND MGW – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS YOUR ENROLLMENT IN THE TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF AND AGREEMENT TO ABIDE BY THESE TERMS OF USE. THESE TERMS OF USE MAY BE MODIFIED BY MGW FROM TIME TO TIME WITHOUT ADVANCE NOTICE BY POSTING HERE AND YOU WILL BE BOUND BY ANY SUCH MODIFIED TERMS OF USE IF YOU CONTINUE TO BE ENROLLED IN THE SERVICE. THE DATE THESE TERMS OF USE WERE LAST UPDATED IS STATED AT THE END OF THIS DOCUMENT. YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO REVIEW THESE TERMS OF USE PERIODICALLY FOR UPDATES AND CHANGES. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS OF USE, DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER ON THE DESIGNATED OPT-IN FORM.

The following terms and conditions apply to your use of the Service:

  1. You hereby certify that the mobile phone number you use to enroll in the Service is your own phone number.
  2. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service, and if you are under 18 in the U.S. or under the age of majority in your province or territory of residence, your parent or guardian must read and agree to these Terms of Use before you enroll.
  3. Please note that while MGW does not charge for the Service, your carrier’s standard message and data rates may apply. You agree that you are responsible for paying your carrier’s charges to use the Service or, if you are under 18 in the U.S. or under the age of majority in your province or territory of residence, that you have permission to use the Service from the adult responsible for paying the carrier’s charges.
  4. Carriers do not guarantee message delivery and will not be liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  5. Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) alerts: From time to time, MGW may send messages with multimedia content (pictures, videos, GIFs, etc.). MMS alerts may not be available through all carriers. If your device does not support MMS alerts, then you will receive an SMS alert. Prepaid users may not be able to participate. Check with your mobile operator.
  6. To unsubscribe from MGW’s message Service at any time, simply text the word or words [STOP] to the short code (70839) or in response to any text message received.
  7. The Service offered on an “as is” and “where as” basis, and: (1) may not be available in all areas at all times; and (2) may not continue to work in the event of product, software, coverage or other service changes made by your wireless carrier. MGW may change or discontinue any of its text programs without notice or liability to you. MGW reserves the right to cease delivery of text messages to any person at any time at its sole discretion.
  8. MGW makes no representations or warranties whatsoever regarding the Service. MGW hereby disclaims all warranties, including any implied representations or warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  9. MGW and each of their respective officers, directors and employees are not responsible and shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, special, incidental or punitive damages – or other losses or injuries of any kind – resulting directly or indirectly, from the MGW Text Messaging Service (and your use thereof) – including any content or information contained in such text message – or from technical failures or delays of any kind, even if MGW has been advised of the possibility of such damage or loss,
  10. You expressly agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MGW and its directors, officers, employees, servants, agents, representatives, independent contractors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, actions, causes of action, costs, expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), judgments, or penalties of any kind or nature whatsoever arising from your use of the Service.
  11. These Terms of Use shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia. YOU AND MGW AGREE THAT ANY PROCEEDINGS TO RESOLVE OR LITIGATE ANY DISPUTE WILL BE CONDUCTED SOLELY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, AND THAT NEITHER YOU NOR MGW WILL SEEK TO HAVE ANY DISPUTE HEARD AS A CLASS ACTION, A REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, A COLLECTIVE ACTION, A PRIVATE ATTORNEY-GENERAL ACTION, OR IN ANY PROCEEDING IN WHICH YOU OR MGW ACTS OR PROPOSES TO ACT IN A REPRESENTATIVE CAPACITY. YOU AND MGW FURTHER AGREE THAT NO PROCEEDING WILL BE JOINED, CONSOLIDATED, OR COMBINED WITH ANOTHER PROCEEDING WITHOUT THE PRIOR WRITTEN CONSENT OF YOU, MGW, AND ALL PARTIES TO ANY SUCH PROCEEDING.
